balconies of beirut

an ongoing series documenting the simple wonder of balconies in lebanon. given the country's mediterranean climate, balconies are a ubiquitous part of its urban landscape. they create a less rigid spatial distinction between inside/outside and public/private.

they are a window into the lives of Beirut’s inhabitants. they reveal details of their lives from the intimate to the mundane, anything from  political followings to this week’s laundry.
